GEORGE ZAKHARY

George is the owner and founder of Break the Mold Fitness. His fitness journey began years ago at 240 lbs. trying to play catch with his son when he was out of breath and realized he needed to make a change. After several attempts through the beginning of his health and fitness journey he was easily discouraged by the gym environment and often found himself uncomfortable. He continued to push through day after day to be a success for his son. This experience lead him to his passion in both fitness and motivation. Here at Break the Mold he aspires to instill a sense of community, positivity, and self-acceptance into not just his members but everyone. As a resident of North Arlington for over 33 years he takes great pride in giving back and hopes to encourage others to do the same.During the COVID-19 outbreak he put together a fundraiser, “Breakfast for Heroes”, where he collected donations and united with local small businesses to provide breakfast to the frontline staff at over 34 hospitals. This is just one small example of what Break the Mold is all about and why joining George on his journey here will become more than “just a gym”.

ISA MENDEZ

Isa (pronounced E-sa) grew up a multi-sport varsity athlete playing soccer, cheerleading and her passion, softball. She was the starting pitcher for four years in Rutherford High School as well as in college at the University of Scranton.

After graduating, Isa strayed away from fitness and realized after gaining an uncomfortable amount of weight and losing what made her feel like her self, that she was ready to go back to her athletic roots. Isa started going to spin classes and weight training. Putting in the time and changing her body was great but what mattered the most to her growth was the environment she was in. She felt welcome, safe, and pushed positively in a direction to better herself.

She obtained her Spinning Certification in 2017. She found Break the Mold in the summer of 2020 and it felt like home. Her goal as a coach is to make sure people know they belong, that they are worthy of being in the building, of earning their progress and that THEY CAN DO HARD THINGS. Keep showing up, trust the process, and always dance in between sets.

NATHALIE SANTANA

Nathalie has been a teacher for 13 years. As a young child, she always knew that when she was older she wanted to make a positive difference and always told her mom that "she wanted to do something to change lives" and she has found that in teaching and coaching.

Early in her teenage years she found a passion for exercising and would love to spend hours in the gym. Her passion continued into adulthood and quickly shifted from taking numerous cardio classes to loving lifting weights.

Throughout her journey of fitness she has always loved helping, and encouraging others to workout along with her. One of her favorite quotes that she lives by is, "If it doesnt challenge you, it won't change you." She is very excited to be a part of the Break the Mold team and looks forward to helping all the athletes crush their goals!

FELIX

Hi, my name is Felix, and I’ve been blessed with the opportunity to become a coach at Break the Mold Fitness at just 19 years old. I was five when I first stepped into a kickboxing school, and ever since then, my desire for progress in any form of physical activity has shown no signs of slowing down. I’ve gone through various physical changes throughout my life—one of the most significant being losing 80 pounds, bringing me from about 250 pounds down to around 170.

Throughout that process, I gained years’ worth of knowledge in just a matter of months. As a coach, I always tell my clients that while building bigger arms and stronger bodies is a priority, if someone can walk into the gym and leave happier than they were when they arrived, that’s a win for me any day of the week.

KYLE

With over a decade of experience training athletes from teenagers to adults, Kyle specializes in strength and athletic performance development. Whether you're stepping into the gym for the first time or training for your next competitive season, Kyle brings energy, knowledge, and a passion for helping you push past barriers. Kyle’s journey into coaching was inspired by his own fitness transformation—a turning point that ignited his love for training and showed him firsthand the impact that strength can have on every aspect of life. That experience continues to shape his approach and fuels his drive to help others unlock their full potential. In addition to his work in the gym, Kyle is a dedicated 6th Grade Social Studies teacher and high school sports coach. His commitment to mentorship and growth extends beyond fitness—he’s all about building confidence, discipline, and long-term success in every athlete he trains.

For Kyle, there’s nothing more rewarding than seeing someone lift what they couldn’t lift just a week before. His mission is to create a gym environment where people feel empowered, supported, and genuinely excited to train.
